Siraz Uddin Sathi was born in the greater Dhaka district in 1955. He was a student leader since his school life and he actively participated in student movement of 1969-70. He had participated in the war of Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971 as a veteran Freedom Fighter. He was educated in the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh and the University of Wales, UK. He studied Economics, Transport Economics and law. In the University of Chittagong he was student of the Department of Economics during 1973-79 where Professor Muhammad Yunus was his teacher. Since then he had witnessed the continued struggle of his teacher for establishment of the right of poor to have access to institutional collateral-free credit. He authored many books of special Interest. He is one of the co-authors of "Jorimon of Beltoli Village", which was edited by Professor Muhammad Yunus in 1981. His book on Liberation war of Bangladesh in the district of Narsingdi (Mukti juddhe Narsingdi) was published in 1992. Most of his books are published in Bangla on different subjects, including World Slavery, Ancient Human on Earth, Religion and society, Biography, Travelogue and etc. His novel about the river Shitalakkhya is well acclaimed by the learned quarters as an exceptional historiography.
